“I focus on communication in order to bring excellence to my clients and believe that with the right attitude, you can accomplish anything.”

Karen joined Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP (GPP) in 2017 as a tax senior manager. She works with high-net-worth individuals on taxation, fiduciary taxation, and family office management issues. Previously, Karen spent 20 years as a vice president and tax director for a privately owned business where she hired, trained, and managed personnel. She was also responsible for tax compliance and planning functions.

Karen describes herself as conscientious, creative and artistic; her teammates consider her friendly and outgoing. Others in the firm view her as fair-minded and very knowledgeable in her respective field. She attributes her success to hard work and dedication to being the best that she can be. Karen was inspired to pursue a career in accounting through her coursework in college and has worked in the industry for more than 25 years.

Karen was born in Oklahoma and raised in Colorado. After graduating from Colorado State University, she moved to Texas. Karen resides in Coppell, Texas, with her husband of 22 years, David. She has two daughters, Natalie and Kathryn, and one very sweet border collie named Koda. Karen enjoys living in Coppell because it is a small community in a very large metroplex where you can always bump into friends and neighbors.

Karen’s favorite book is Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall, Denver Moore and Lynn Vincent. The book resonates with her because of its multiple themes, including love, friendship and how people from all walks of life and circumstance want the same things. She attributes her favorite quote to John F. Kennedy, who once said, “The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.” She feels this quote is full of the same sort of common-sense wisdom she applies to her work every day. In her free time, Karen enjoys tennis, skiing, reading, traveling, cooking and scrapbooking.
